Mass Driving
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
So this was originally a tutorial for a learn Unity3D course that I was taking. I then proceeded to get over excited and turned it into basically a full game that I am still working on. :)
This is my very first game! Hope you enjoy! :D
BUG: For some reason the Pause Menu buttons only work on the Normal Mode levels. Trying to figure out why, but in the mean time, the game will still pause, and if you want to exit the level, you can run the vehicle off the road.
How good a driver are you? Find out!
In Normal and Hard Modes your speed increases slightly and your goal is further away from your starting point with each level!
In all "Endless" difficulties, max speed increases incrementally up to 10 times, with the final level being when you reach a score of 2560+. Making it harder the longer you're in the game.
Changelog April 5, 2020
Finally swapped out ALL assets!
Goal in non-Endless levels is now to reach your home safely!
Added sidewalks to all levels (don't drive on them!)
Added a basic grassy ground to the non-Endless mode levels
Added a house to all non-Endless mode levels
Added to the fog by creating a particle based fog.
Replaced the 5 tutorial vehicles with 9 alternate vehicles, each with 6 possible colors. This means that there are 54 vehicle spawning possiblities ranging from a little Mini-Cooperish smart car all the way up to 18 wheelers and tankers!
Current to-do list:
Add high score feature in endless modes
Make said high score and current score show on the "Game Over" screen at the time of losing
Add landscaping to Endless Modes
Add more housing and landscaping to Normal and Hard Modes to make it feel more like a neighborhood
Add a save function, at which time I will remove the level select and add it as a perk for beating the game
Sidewalk Textures: freepbr.com
All other assets Unity Asset Store
Changelog April 3, 2020
Added 10 Normal Mode levels and 10 Hard Mode levels for a total of 23 levels (including the 3 Endless Mode difficulties)
Added a "Controls" menu
Added a "Level Select" for the non-endless modes
Added a "Pause" menu to escape to the Main Menu or exit the game
Added a text at the bottom right of the screen to indicate your current level in Normal and Hard Modes
"Game Over" screen now allows you to choose to restart the current level or quit to main menu
On Normal and Hard Mode levels there is a screen in between each level to give you a rest between levels
Each level in Normal and Hard Modes increases the distance to the goal (which is currently invisible [plans to change that in future hopefully]) and increases the speed.
Hard Mode has a 50% base speed increase over Normal Mode on top of the 1st person only.
Changelog April 2, 2020
Adjusted the rain to be less white, and thinner so it looks more realistic.
Added some ambiance
> Rain sounds
> Engine sounds for both player and NPC vehicles
> Some relaxing music for the drive!
